Wine buff Pascal Watkins has been appointed one of the judges for a competition in which he was a winner last year.

Mr Watkins took the Best Wine Offering award for The Angel Inn at Hetton, near Skipton, in the 2009 Northern Hospitality Awards.

The head of marketing and wine buyer at The Angel said: “I’m very proud and privileged to be a part of the judging process this year.”

The awards ceremony takes place on Monday, April 12, at The Hilton Deansgate in Manchester, providing a test of culinary and hospitality skills.
