Little Horton gardener died after taking drugs
8:40am Saturday 17th December 2011 in Little Horton
A landscape gardener, who had heart disease, died after taking amphetamines.
Stuart Horsfall, 40, of Halstead Place, Little Horton, Bradford, collapsed at his home on August 20 after drinking with friends and allegedly taking amphetamines, a Bradford inquest heard yesterday.
A post-mortem examination showed Mr Horsfall had two main heart arteries blocked off and that the heart muscle was enlarged.
Recording a verdict that Mr Horsfall died from non-dependent abuse of drugs, Acting Bradford Coroner Professor Paul Marks said he accepted the deceased had not regularly abused drugs, but the amphetamines would have disturbed the rhythm of his already damaged heart, stopping it to beat.
