A 24-year-old woman, of Wyke, Bradford, is organising a family fun day to raise money for a charity close to her heart.
Kerry Comiskey is raising money for Tommy’s, a charity that funds medical research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, after suffering a miscarriage last October.
With the help of her sister and best friend she has organised the event at the Wyke Centre in Green Lane, Wyke, on Saturday, April 30, from noon to 3pm.
There will be a table-top sale, cake stalls, food, face painting, bouncy castle and raffle.
Kerry said: “Miscarriage affects one in four pregnancies and people don’t realise how many are affected.
“I felt helpless when it happened to me. I need some closure so I have organised this event as a way of giving something back.
“Local shops and restaurants have all come together to donate things for the raffle and I hope to raise a lot of money for the charity, as well as awareness about the work they do.
“There will be an information stall about Tommy’s on the day.”
