Pupils at a school in Wyke, Bradford, were given a rare insight into the life of a Holocaust survivor.
Iby Knell, 86, talked to the Appleton Academy students, of Year Eight and Year Nine, about her experiences during the Second World War, including the time she spent at Auschwitz.
Head of history John Gillard said: “They have been learning about the Holocaust in lessons over the last few weeks.
“Iby’s story gave them an idea of what an individual had been through, among six million people.
“She gave a presentation for 45 minutes, and showed pictures of her growing up in Hungary.
“They asked a lot of questions which showed they were interested and wanted to find out more.”
