ST MARY’S: The uniformed branches of the church continue to meet during the week. Holy Communion will be celebrated by the Reverend Adrian Cragg on Sunday at 10.30am.

MEETING: The next meeting of the Friends of Wyke Park is at 7pm on Tuesday in the Veterans Pavilion, Recreation Ground. All interested in the upkeep of the grounds are welcome.

MORAVIAN: Tonight the Adventurers Youth Group meets in the Sunday School at 7pm. The service on Sunday at 10.30am is by Paul Greenhough. The Beavers and Cubs meet on Monday at 5.45pm. The Women’s Association will be holding a brunch on Saturday, February 16, from 11am to 1pm. The cost is £5 and proceeds are for projects at home and abroad.

RUGBY: On Saturday the Wyke ARLFC entertain Sharleston Rovers in the first round of the BARLA National Cup competition in the Recreation Ground. The club is holding a sportsman’s dinner on Friday, April 5, in the Low Moor Club with guest speaker former international player Gary Schofield and comedian Lea Roberts. NEW HORIZONS: Sequence dances are held on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month in the Methodist Church Hall, off Towngate from 1.30 to 4pm. In the Wyke Centre at 1.30pm on Tuesday members of the Craft Club meet and on Friday the Sugar Craft Group.

CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP: Tonight the Youth Groups meet in the Wyke Centre from 6.15pm. The all-age service on Sunday at 10.30am will be conducted by members of the Youth Group and Glenn Wilson and the evening service at 6.30pm by John Prodger. The Toddler Church meets on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 9.45am. The coffee morning is open every Thursday from 10am.

WESTFIELD UR: The coffee morning with bring and buy sale is on Saturday in the hall from 10am to noon. The Reverend Mark Woodhouse will conduct a service on Sunday at 10.30am.

WYKE CHRISTIAN COUNCIL: At the recent annual meeting, the following officers were elected for 2013: chairman Paul Greenhough (Moravian Church), secretary Elaine Murphy (Christian Fellowship) and treasurer Neil Fletcher (Westfield UR Church). The charity to be supported by the council for the next two years will be the St George’s Crypt, Leeds.

METHODIST: Trevor Kershaw will be conducting the morning service on Sunday at 10.30am. Line-dancing is held on Tuesdays at 8pm.

ACT UP: A fun drama club for the seven to 11-year-olds is on Fridays from 6.30pm in St Mary’s Church Hall, Green Lane. Admission is £2.50.
