Ardent Bradford City fan Haydn Burron has been presented with a signed shirt by chairman Mark Lawn as he prepares to leave Bradford to join the Army.

The 16-year-old former Thornton Grammar School pupil will start a 12-month training course at Sir John Moore Barracks in Winchester at the end of the month before joining the Royal Engineers. Haydn, a keen karate player, has been supporting City at Valley Parade for most of his life, watching the team with his grandfather Geoff Burron, of Fairweather Green, Bradford.

Haydn’s father Paul Burron praised his son, saying: “We are very proud of him. Getting the shirt has made his day.”
