School governor doantes £400 to Greengates Primary School

A Bradford primary school will receive a cheque for £400 thanks to the efforts of an Otley supermarket worker.

Linda Guy, who works at Sainsbury’s in Otley, has been a governor at Greengates Primary School in Bradford for many years.

Now, thanks to the Sainsbury’s matched giving scheme, called Local Heroes, she is able to donate £400 to the school.

Store manager, Mick Hepworth, said “We are very proud to have colleagues that are so dedicated to helping out in their local community. Linda is an inspiration to us all.”

Meanwhile, Sainsbury’s in Otley is celebrating its second birthday on Friday, December 3, and staff will be presenting a cheque for £1,800 to the store’s chosen charity of the year, the Aireborough Summer Activities Scheme.
