Parents and children from different communities got together to try a flavour of each other’s cultures.
Lilycroft Primary School, in Girlington, Bradford, hosted a group from Ben Rhydding Primary School at an event on the theme ‘We Are Bradford’. Parents of Lilycroft pupils shared snacks of samosas and pakoras while their opposite numbers from Ben Rhydding supplied some traditional English cakes for the get-together. They also tried different blends of tea.
Children mixed together by planting ‘friendship flowers’ and making friendship bracelets.
Usma Bibi, diversity and cohesion co-ordinator at Lilycroft, said it was a great opportunity to celebrate diversity and embrace community cohesion in the city.
