An investigation is under way into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man found in a Bradford house.
Police believe the body had been in the boardered-up house for some time before it was discovered yesterday.
Officers were alerted to the house in Salisbury Road, Frizinghall, by a member of the public.
A neighbour, who did not want to be identified, said she believed that an elderly man lived at the house but he had not been seen for some time.
She said: “When we moved here we noticed it was boardered-up and we inquired with another neighbour and we thought he had gone into a home.
“We thought he would like help with his garden, but we never saw him.”
Another neighbour, who would not be named, said she last saw him about nine months ago.
Forensic officers were at the house carrying out investigations last night.
The police spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.”
