Teenagers at two Bradford secondary schools are acting as learning mentors to more than 120 school children during half-term.

Pupils at Springwood Community Primary School in Manningham went bowling and played sports yesterday at the beginning of a week of fun activities.

The youngsters are being supported by a group of older students at Nab Wood School in Cottingley and Challenge College in Frizinghall.

Later in the week the children are going swimming and catching a film at the cinema.

Organiser Khalil Hussain said: β€œIt’s about building the skills of the next crop of youngsters to look after future generations.”
