'Help Claverley to bloom'

Villagers are being urged to spruce up their gardens and streets in time for a visit by Britain In Bloom judges on Thursday, March 29.

The judges will be doing their rounds from 10am to noon, awarding points which will be added to another round of judging in summer, adding up to the total score which Calverley In Bloom organisers hope will earn them a gold prize.

For the past two years, Calverley has come away with a silver gilt status.

One of the organisers, David Williams, said: “We’re really hoping all the villagers will get behind us and spruce up their gardens and areas to get us on our way.”
