Warning after cash stolen in Drighlington
11:01am Wednesday 13th October 2010 in Drighlington
Residents have been warned against becoming victims of tricksters after money was believed to have been stolen from a woman’s handbag.
A resident of the Moor Top area of Drighlington was visited at her home by a man who claimed he worked at a nearby factory and needed to turn her water supply off.
As she assisted the man, a second man entered the house and is believed to have stolen money from the woman’s handbag.
The first male was white, about 18 to 19, 6ft tall, of a slim build, clean shaven with short mousey brown hair.
He wore jeans and a jumper.
The second man was white, 6ft 1in to 6ft 2in, of slim build with short fair hair.
Residents who have concerns about a caller at their door should keep them locked out and contact a friend or neighbour.
Anyone who was in the Moor Top area at about 1pm last Friday and saw men matching these descriptions has been asked to contact PC Debbie Farley on 0845 6060606.
