Police have appealed for information after a man was found with head injuries in Denholme.

It is believed the 43-year-old might have been involved in an accident with a vehicle.

Yesterday he was being treated at Leeds General Infirmary, where he was described as stable.

Police were called by the ambulance service to a report of a possible road accident on the A629 at about 5am on Sunday. It is understood several people had stopped to help the victim.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw an incident and in particular the driver of a silver-coloured saloon car who offered help.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 1384 Robert Hampshire at Airedale and North Bradford roads policing unit on 0845 60 60 606.
