Magician Dynamo ‘walks on water’ in front of the Houses of Parliament
Onlookers were left spellbound as they watched a Bradford magician take a walk on the Thames.
Steven Frayne, known by the stage name Dynamo, performed the stunt while filming for his new show which airs from next week.
The magician, who has performed for the likes of Prince Charles and Coldplay, travelled as far and wide as the US and Austria for the Dynamo: Magician Impossible programme, but made sure to include a stop-off in Bradford.
His manager, Dan Albion, would not give much away about the Bradford performance but said Dynamo was proud of his roots.
“He goes to see his family and does some magic in the city centre,” said Mr Albion.
“He is a proud Bradfordian and talks a lot about that and his experiences growing up there.”
Mr Frayne grew up on the Delph Hill estate and spent his childhood battling Crohn’s disease.
With a grant from the Prince's Trust he launched his career and now has a list of celebrity fans which includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Jay-Z and Will Smith.
Mr Albion described the new show as “part documentary, part magic show, following him doing incredible impromptu illusions”. Of the Thames water-walk he said: “None of the production crew actually knows his secrets, he is very tight-lipped about what he does.
“I don’t know how he did the walk on the Thames.
“As far as I can see it is the biggest thing in magic that has been done in this country.
“It was amazing to watch.

well done!
I had the pleasure of seeing him perform some tricks and talking to him some years ago at a wedding and found him to be a nice pleasant young man.
nice to see he`s still entertaining us.

I would like to see him run, skip and jump across the surface and land on his feet. This trickery does nothing for me. Simple deception. Thats all it is. Nothing more. 'an illusion'.
Well done Stephen - good to see an Ex Wyke Manor pupil doing well.
