Three of the fancy dress entrants
Broomsticks, witches’ hats and skulls on sticks made for a ghoulish gathering at an annual Halloween event in Birkenshaw.
Thirty children aged up to 11 played games, sang songs and paraded their costumes before competition judge, ward councillor Elizabeth Smaje, at Birken-shaw Community Hall.
The annual event was organised by Birkenshaw Village Associa-tion (BVA) and everyone enjoyed a feast of chicken nuggets.
