A popular pianist who played the pubs and clubs of Bradford for three decades has died, aged 60.
Gabriel Scarry, who was blind from birth, was a regular at the Cock and Bottle, Barkerend Road, and the Bentleys Arms, in Great Horton Road.
“From the age of 18 he was playing in the pubs in Bradford,” said his brother Bernard Scarry. “He had a stroke six or seven years ago and that is when he stopped. He played in the local pubs and clubs for 30 years.”
Mr Scarry died after a short illness, his brother said. He had no children of his own but was a member of a large family as one of ten siblings.
