A Bradford children’s centre manager swapped places with an apprentice for a day.

Allerton Children’s centre manager Dave Morrison became a creche worker as he traded places with budding childcare apprentice Shannen Coldwell, 17, who ran the centre for the day.

The role reversal was all set up to celebrate National Apprentice Week and Shannen, who is currently under-taking a Level Three course in Childcare and Development at Shipley College, took on the general admin duties and organised the staff for the day.

Mr Morrison said: “Shannen was fantastic. Not as good as me, obviously, but she did fantastically well. We really value having an apprentice in our team. She helps us as much as we’re helping her.

“I very much enjoyed the day. It was great to get out of the office and work with the children again.”
