A new group of pupils have been signed up to act as sporting role models to their peers.
Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College, in Reevy Road West, Bradford, has launched its sports academy to the new set of sporty students who have been given tracksuits with their initials.
The pupils, aged 11 to 18, were selected for their prowess in a range of sports.
They will receive coaching in their particular field and represent the school in competitions.
The academy was set up in 2008 to coincide with the redevelopment of the school’s sports facilities. Retired Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning gymnast Craig Heap visited the school to attend the launch.
The athlete was born in Burnley and represented England more than 100 times in various international gymnastic competitions.
