Primary school pupils in Bradford have swapped their computer consoles for sequins and bow ties as part of a ballroom dancing competition.
The competition was part of Tong High School’s Primary Partnerships initiative, which involves pupils from 18 primary schools in a range of events and projects to broaden their experiences.
The ballroom dancing competition, due to be held today, was expected to see 120 pupils from three primary schools take to the floor, with Tong High School’s Year Seven ambassadors helping to host the event.
Tong’s deputy head Jane Girt has been leading the initiative, which has also seen pupils use the school’s video and editing suite to create a television programme and more than 40 sixth formers have been trained in guided reading and regularly visit primary schools.
