Children’s creative writing was inspired by Captain Hook and a Viking at Allerton Primary School this week.
Using student actors from Tong High School in a stunt designed to thrill pupils, two ‘police officers’ told of how a boat had crashed ashore and its crew were armed and at large in the community.
The officers assured the children during assembly they were trying to capture the characters, only for Captain Hook and his accomplice to interrupt, fleeing through the school hall.
Pupils joined police in a manhunt by designing ‘Wanted’ notices before they were asked to write a story.
The fugitives were later arrested during the lunch break to cheers from the children.
Mansoora Ahmed, school administrator, said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed it. They learned a lot to inspire their writing and also about staying safe and not to speak to strangers.”
