Pupils from Sandy Lane Primary School were among more than 600 young people, aged from five to 18, got health-wise when they joined in an interactive day of events run by the NHS.
The Connections event at Bradford City Football Club was a chance for young people from primary and secondary schools across the district to come together to learn about the NHS in a fun way and enjoy taking part in workshops and demonstrations.
Jamie’s Ministry of Food held practical ‘cook-offs’ and Bradford Council’s leisure services ran taster sessions for a range of physical activities featuring dance mats, shock bikes, concept rowers and Wii-fits.
To keep costs to a minimum, all staff gave their time free of charge and sponsorship was secured in the form of competition prizes from football, rugby and cricket clubs.
