Bid to trace man's relatives in Bingley, Crossflatts and Nab Wood

A coroner’s office has appealed for help to trace relatives of a man who died after falling into the Leeds -Liverpool Canal.

Colin Birtle, 77, died on Sunday, September 20, at Bradford Royal Infirmary, following the accident.

He had been living in Crossflatts, Bingley.

Airedale and North Bradford coroners officer Tony Thornton said it was believed Mr Birtle may be survived by a niece with the maiden name of Collete Birtle, who would now be in her 50s or 60s.

Her father and mother were called Tony and Audrey and lived in the Nab Wood area of Shipley.

Anyone who has information or is a relative is asked to contact Mr Thornton on (01535) 293481.
