WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: It’s the 50th anniversary of Harden WI this year and the group have an entertaining programme to celebrate. They usually meet on the second Monday of the month, unless it is a Bank Holiday, at 7.30pm in St Saviour’s family room. The programme includes: From Sheep to Shawl (Cynthia Thewlis, March 12); The Apothecary’s Apprentice (Astrid Hansen, April 16); The Story of Pearls (Robert Bolton, May 14); Bradford’s Millennium Way – Part One (Robert Whitehead, June 11); Anywhere Nice? (Robert Waddington, September 10); Maud Lewis (Patricia Atkinson, October 8); and A Walk Through Real Life (Fay Wheat, November 12). In addition the Lower Wharfedale Group meeting is on Thursday, April 26, in Cullingworth Methodist Church. The Spring Market is on Saturday, April 28. Harden Children’s Gala is on Saturday, June 16; Bardsey-cum-Rigton WI’s visit is on Monday, July 9, and the annual outing is in August. New members always welcome. Harden PLAYERS: The Players will present Cinderella from Thursday to Saturday, February 16 to 18, and Thursday to Saturday, February 23 to 25, with matinee performances on the Saturday afternoons. Tickets can be obtained from Harden Post Office at £5. The Pantomime has been written by Bernard Stern and his daughter Charlotte. Charlotte is playing the part of Cinderella and Peter Whitley is playing the part of Buttons.
