An 84-year-old man found dead at his home in Bingley took his own life, a coroner has ruled.
Vincent Lilley, of Hollinwood View, Crossflatts, had suffered from depression and left a letter explaining his intention to take his own life, an inquest yesterday in Bradford heard.
The retired cabinet maker’s body was discovered by a neighbour in July last year, the hearing was told. He died from asphyxiation, a post-mortem examination found.
Acting Bradford Coroner Paul Marks said: “I am persuaded by the note which he left and the circumstances in which he was found that he intended to take his own life and therefore the only logical verdict I have to return is that Vincent Lilley killed himself.”
