Becky Macintyre, 16, and her brothers Sam, 15, and Josh, 13, along with Jack Bottomley and Joe Doherty, both 15, will represent Bingley Grammar School in this year’s Music for Youth from Monday to Wednesday..
Their band, The MarmoZets, won this year’s Music for Youth national competition for youngsters aged under 20.
It is the second year in a row the school has achieved the outstanding performance award – Soul’d Out picked up the gong last year – and it is the first time a school has won the award two years running.
Music teacher Chris Marks said: “Against 11 other acts during an unforgettable evening and superb performance, they won the most outstanding performance award – effectively becoming the best under 20 rock and pop band in the country.”
