COUNCIL planners have given the green light for a derelict, Grade II listed building in Little Germany to be converted into a restaurant and takeaway.

Last year plans were revealed to convert the “semi dilapidated” 36 Peckover Street into a restaurant with room for 26 diners and attached takeaway.

Those plans were refused by Bradford Council due to a lack of detail, but a second application for the building, by a Mr Khal, has now been approved by planning officers.

His application had said: “The host building is in need of renovation and modernisation, and to do nothing will definitely allow the building’s roof and floors to fall into further disrepair. There were broken windows where it attracted pigeons to infest the building.”

Plans to convert the building’s upper floors into flats have already been approved.

One of the conditions of the approval is that the business does not operate between 11pm and 8am.
