FINDING time to talk helped 37-year-old Andrew Wild get his life back on track.
His low mood feelings and anxieties worsened after his mother-in-law’s death but he enrolled on a talking therapies course with the free NHS MyWellbeing College helping him find new happiness.
“My love for everything had disappeared and everything seemed like a chore. I was also getting very snappy. I didn’t value myself; I was at a low point and I didn’t know how to get out of that mind-set and everything seemed to spiral,” he said – but chatting to friends and trained professionals put things into perspective.
Now he wants to encourage more people to seek support, open up and talk about mental health, to help people understand they are not alone.
“You have to help yourself by talking; it’s good to talk,” he said.
