A MAN has been arrested following a double stabbing in Bradford this morning.

West Yorkshire Police have cordoned off a row of six terraced houses in Walker Avenue, Lidget Green, and are maintaining a uniformed presence while investigations continue into the attack.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended Walker Avenue, Bradford, at about 2:45am this morning and found two men, aged 39 and 41 with stab wounds.

"They were taken to hospital - one of the men with serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

"A 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident."

Detective Inspector Alan Weekes of Bradford District CID, said: "This was a serious assault where one person has sustained significant injuries, but the consequences could have been much worse.

"Officers are continuing to carry out inquiries but I would appeal for anyone with information on this incident to get in touch with police."

One resident neaby said she had been told that two men had been taken to hospital with stab wounds but had slept through the disturbance.

Another said she was shocked by the incident having only moved into the street a few weeks ago.
