Businesses have been encouraged to sign up with a school to provide students with greater career opportunities and experience.

Grange Technology College, in Haycliffe Lane, Bradford, held a lunch at Mumtaz Restaurant, Great Horton Road, Bradford, to promote the scheme.

The school aims to create a database of businesses which are willing to offer pupils work experience, work placements or sponsorship for out of school activities.

Nazmin Din, community development manager at the school, said: "I think it is really important for businesses to invest in young people and for students to gain work experience."

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Choudhary Rangzeb, gave his backing to the scheme at the lunch, above.
