High levels of stress are widespread among staff throughout further education and higher education institutions in Yorkshire, a new study has claimed.
The problem is revealed in the results of a survey conducted on behalf of the University and Colleges Union (UCU), and the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL).
Some 77 per cent of Yorkshire-based lecturers and academics who responded to the poll claimed their workloads had increased in the last three years.
Staff said the main sources of work related stress were heavily linked to demands for hitting targets and deadlines, long working hours, increased workloads and frequent changes of timetables or courses.
