ALTHOUGH the weather was more like Winter than early Spring, hundreds of families across the district enjoyed a number of Easter events this weekend.

Cliffe Castle Park in Keighley recently underwent a £4.5 million revamp, which included new accommodation for the park’s rabbits and guinea pigs.

The animals returned to their homes this weekend, and to celebrate there was a day of animal themed fun in the park.

As well as getting the chance to see the park’s resident animals, children got to see snakes and other rare reptiles, as well as watching a ferret race run by Worth Valley Ferret Welfare. There were also arts and crafts.

East Riddlesden Hall was hosting a series of Easter Egg Hunts. The National Trust partners with Cadbury every year for the egg hunts.

However the poor weather did scupper other Easter events. The Friends Of Northcliffe Park had planned an event in the park, but had to cancel due to heavy rainfall the night before. They said it had been the first time the event had been cancelled in years.
