A FIREFIGHTER who helped rescue a kitten trapped in a bottle bank has adopted him.
The kitten, called Spell, was rescued from the bottle bank in the car park at Morrisons store in Five Lane Ends, Bradford Road, Idle.
A crew from Shipley Fire Station rescued the black-coloured kitten on November 26, after cutting away part of the bank.
Darren Creighton, watch commander of Shipley Fire Station, has now adopted the feline and now lives alongside his dog, Lucy, aged 15.
He added it is believed the kitten was trapped inside the bottle bank for the previous 24 hours.
Mr Creighton said: “He is a happy little thing. He came home with us and settled in with the dog. It’s a nice end to a sad story.”
