POLICE in Keighley are giving a twist on the idea of an Advent calendar by revealing arrests they are making in the run up to Christmas.

Police have been "opening the doors" of suspected criminals, and so far people have been arrested on suspicion burglary, drug possession and breaching a court order.

Each day of December police will be revealing what is behind the latest door on social media to give the public a glimpse of their day to day operations.

On December 1 Neighbourhood Ward Officers executed a warrant on North Dean Road, Braithwaite, and found quantities of suspected amphetamine and cannabis were seized from the address, and the occupant arrested.

The second day saw a 27 year old man arrested in relation to a residential burglary in Ilkley, possession of drugs and resisting arrest. He has now been charged with the burglary offence and bailed to court in January.

Day three's "door" saw a 20 year old man from North Yorkshire who was wanted for burgling an address in Keighley being arrested. He has since been bailed for further enquiries.

Yesterday a 31 year old male wanted for breaching his Non-Molestation Order was arrested, charged and remanded for the breach.

Officers opened day five of the Keighley advent calendar a day early - during the search of a property they found a suspected commercial burglar hiding in a wardrobe. He was arrested and is waiting to be interviewed.
