WORK is ongoing into filling a sinkhole in Baildon, with an inspection planned for next week.
An area of pavement on a pedestrian crossing in Browgate gave way last month causing the large cavity.
The main gas pipes exposed by the sinkhole were shored up today.
Louanna Winch, Baildon Town Council clerk, gave an update on the ongoing operation on the authority’s Facebook page.
She posted: “Heavy rain on Thursday has exposed the full extent of the collapsed culvert and running water can be now viewed approximately seven metres down from the original car park surface.
“There will be a further inspection of the site on Monday, after Storm Brian has passed, as there are concerns this could delay work.”
It is not known when the work will be completed.
