A NEW coffee shop in Bingley has created eight jobs as it opens its doors in the town.

Costa Coffee opens to customers today in the Five Rise Shopping Centre, after holding a preview event yesterday.

The chain was granted planning permission in January this year to change the use of two empty units in the centre into a cafe with 69 seats inside, and create a 16-place outdoor seating area.

Samara Leach, store manager, said it has already proved popular with customers and the company wants to help community groups in the town.

She said: “Bingley seems to be attracting lots of people.

“There were people waiting outside for our preview event yesterday morning before we opened.”

The business will open from 7am to 7.30pm Monday to Saturday and between 8am and 6.30pm on Sundays.

Costa already has coffee shops across the district including in Bradford city centre, Shipley, Ilkley, Greengates and Tong.
