POLICE have charged a man with four offences after two incidents.

Officers were first called at 9.50pm on Sunday after a report of fire damage to the Halifax Bank branch, in Low Street, Keighley (pictured). A police spokesman said: “Officers attended and found damage had been caused to the front of the building. While conducting enquiries police were called to an incident at a petrol station in Keighley Road, Bingley, where a window had been smashed with an implement. Officers attended and after a search of the area arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of public order offences and criminal damage.

“The man has been charged with three counts of criminal damage, one of which related to the Halifax in Keighley. He was also charged with possession of a sharp, pointed item in a public place and was remanded in custody.”

The Halifax branch in Keighley was closed to customers this morning and into the afternoon while the damage was being repaired.
