A NEW vicar will be installed at a Shipley church later this month after its junior choir's online video appeal to fill the position went viral.
The Reverend Henriette Howarth will be installed as the new vicar of St Paul's Church at a welcome service on Saturday, May 13, at 3pm.
She has teamed up with the church's junior choir to create a film welcoming her to the church.
She said: "It's exciting that the children in the church were involved in the advertising for the new vicar.
"I hope I can fulfill their expectations.
"St Paul's is a fantastic church at the centre of Shipley with a wonderful variety of people and activities and a real love for the community.
"I look forward to getting to know the people of Shipley."
The junior choir created a musical video earlier this year to help advertise for the perfect person to be their next vicar.
The video took social media by storm, when it attracted more than 19,000 views within 24 hours of being posted on Facebook.
The lyrics of the 20-strong choir's song contain their own set of criteria for the qualities they seek in a vicar, along with a list of incentives for whoever is appointed.
