RAMBLING fans from Bingley embarked on a number of routes around the town today to celebrate the inaugural Bingley Walking Festival.
There were four walks organised, taking in sites including the Five Rise Locks, Beckfoot bridge, and the birthplace of Sir Fred Hoyle, and varied in length from three miles to six miles.
It is the first time Bingley Walkers are Welcome have held the event, which was sponsored by Bingley Town Council, and free to get involved in.
Christine McCabe, chairman, said: “We are thrilled with how the festival went, we had about 130 in total on the walks.
“The weather was in our favour and it went better than we had hoped, and I think we will be holding the festival again next year.
“We had visitors come from Leeds and all over the Bradford district to take part in the walks.”
