A MOTORISED scooter was seized by police after a 52 year old man was seen riding it illegally near a busy footbridge in a park.
Police said the seizure of the "Goped" was in response to a surge in complaints about motorised vehicles being used on the bridge over the River Aire in Robert's Park, Saltaire.
Officers from the district's Nuisance Bike Team seized the bike yesterday and the rider, a 52 year old local man, was reported for road related offences.
PC David Hudson, of Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "While on Higher Coach Road, Baildon, officers spotted what appeared to be a 'Goped' travelling into the park via a narrow gateway. At the time there were pedestrians on the bridge, including children.
"The bike team have had a number of recent calls regarding the illegal use of motor vehicles using the footbridge.
"We are wanting to warn members of the public about the dangers these vehicles pose to pedestrians and other road users."
