STAFF at a pair of optician’s branches have urged people to spread a bit of early festive cheer for its charity appeal.

Specsavers in Shipley and Idle are looking for people to drop off gift donations in-store during this month, which will then be boxed up and handed out to charity. The gifts will be given to Cash for Kids, who will distribute them to children’s charities and organisations in Bradford and Bradford Soup Kitchen, who will pass them onto homeless people.

Bhrat Phakey, store director of both branches, said: “Christmas is a time for giving, so we’re more than happy to be donating gifts and essentials to those who may not be as fortunate over the festive period.

“Whether it’s a box of Christmas chocolates or simply some basic toiletries, every little helps when it comes to thinking of others and giving for a good cause.”
