AN INQUEST has opened today into the death of a Crossflatts man who was involved in a collision with a car.
Antony Brett, 51, was taken to Leeds General Infirmary following the incident in Keighley Road, Crossflatts, last Tuesday evening.
He died the following afternoon.
Afterwards, Mr Brett's brother David paid tribute to hospital staff, the emergency services and other people who tried to help Antony at the scene.
Antony Brett, who lived in Keighley Road, was in collision with a blue Hyundai i10 near the junction with Micklethwaite Lane at about 7.30pm.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the accident, or the movements of the car – which was travelling towards Riddlesden – or Mr Brett immediately before it, to come forward.

This morning's inquest, at Bradford Coroner's Office, was adjourned.
