A MAN was taken to hospital suffering from a serious head injury after a four-car crash in Keighley.
The man, believed to be in his late 30s, was driving a red Volkswagen Golf which crashed into the central reservation on Hard Ings Road, when his vehicle then flipped over, collided with a black Ford Focus on the opposite side of the road. The red Golf then landed on its roof.
The impact of the crash, resulted in the black Ford Focus colliding with a grey Volvo and a blue VW Golf.
The man was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.
Five other people were treated at the scene, with one of them taken to Airedale General Hospital.
Inital reports indicated that six vehicles were involved, but a Keighley Fire Station spokesman said four cars were involved.
Fire crews from Keighley and Bingley attended, with the Yorkshire Ambulance initially called at just before 1.10pm yesterday.
The accident caused queuing traffic affecting vehicles travelling between Keighley and Shipley. Hard Ings Road was closed both ways.
