THE Bingley Biathlon last month raised £1,200 to be split between three local sporting organisations.
It was organised by the Friends of Bingley Pool in partnership with Bingley Harriers and Athletics Club and Bingley Amateur Swimming Club.
Proceeds from the event will be shared equally with Friends of Bingley Pool spending its share on improvements at the pool.
As well as the sporting activities, food stalls including the WI cake stall, burger and grill, crepes, fresh coffee, tea and sandwiches and a speciality Senegalese kitchen proved very popular.
The occasion was so successful that there are already plans to stage another biathlon next year and perhaps turn it into an annual event.
