A BINGLEY primary school celebrated its Rose Day yesterday with an afternoon packed with fun activities for the pupils.

Crossflatts Primary School marked Rose Day by children entertaining the school and more than a thousand parents with musical and art performances throughout the afternoon.

The school's Rose king and queen, Alfie Kunz and Isabella Williams, both 11, were crowned.

A ceremony was also held in the evening to reveal a giant rose mural at the school.

Deputy head teacher Fiona Newsome said that this year’s Rose Day was the best one yet.

She said: “It was a wonderful celebration, the children danced their little hearts out and the weather was really kind to us.

“Each class did a dance from their favourite Disney films, with great costumes and dance routines, and then there was a big evening show for parents and the local community.

“Everyone loves getting involved, and all the teachers, with it being Eid, did a special Bollywood themed dance.

“One teacher has done 24 Rose Days, and said this one is probably the best ever.”
