A WOMAN was seriously injured today when a car shot off the Aire Valley trunk road and overturned between Keighley and Silsden.
The Skoda Fabia flipped onto its back after leaving the A629 about halfway along the stretch of road in the direction of Silsden.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance flew to the scene, and its doctor treated the woman before Keighley firefighters stretchered her up the embankment to a waiting ambulance.
Three women were in the car at the time of the accident, with the driver and other passengers escaping injury.
Following the accident at 11.45am, the casualty was taken to Airedale Hospital for treatment.
A police spokesman said the road was not blocked, with traffic reduced to one lane for a time.
