DAREDEVIL Chris Jackson will be perched on top of a biplane when he bravely wing walks for charity this month.

Mr Jackson, of Bingley, has already been given a little lift by colleagues at Keighley engineering firm Marrose Ltd who have pledged to help him reach his target of raising more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.

"I've decided to be brave," said Mr Jackson, 58.

"I'll be strapped to the top of a biplane and taken up to meet the birds, bees and anything else that flies with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.

"A family member has been treated for cancer and wing walking was something I've always fancied doing, but needed a good reason.

"I've never even been up in a plane like this before, but I'm really looking forward to it and because I'm doing it for such a good cause, I can't suddenly change my mind.

"This is something where I'm paying for the flight myself - I couldn't ask people to sponsor me and then take the money to fund something I wanted to do, that just wouldn't seem fair."

He will be taking off from Breighton Aerodrome, Selby, on Sunday, June 26. Anyone who wants to donate can do so at justgiving.com/fundraising/Chris-Jackson2016
