DOZENS of spectacular pieces of land art lined the route of this year's Tour de Yorkshire 2016 and now people are now being urged to vote for their favourite.

More than two million people lined the roads during this year’s event and saw great works of community art dotted along the way.

Tourism bosses at Welcome to Yorkshire have shortlisted 12 pieces of land art that they feel captured the essence of the Tour de Yorkshire, and now it is down to the public to vote for their favourite.

Sir Gary Verity (pictured), of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the standard of land art during this year’s Tour de Yorkshire – it has been extremely difficult to select just 12."

Voting closes on Sunday, May 29, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 1. To vote visit letour.yorkshire.com/landart
