BINGLEY’S newly-formed Marie Curie fundraising group enjoyed a spot of tea and cake at the town’s Oakwood Hall, to encourage folk to get behind Marie Curie’s summer fundraising campaign.

The Blooming Great Tea Party is inviting everyone to brew up with friends and family and hold a tea party between Monday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 29.

Since the fundraising scheme started in 2008, tea parties across the UK have raised more than £4.5 million to help Marie Curie nurses care for more people living with a terminal illness in their own homes and in the Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford.

Ruth Luscombe, chairman of the Bingley group said “Getting together with friends and family to hold a Blooming Great Tea Party is a fun and easy way to support your local Marie Curie Nurses who look after people in the Bingley district either in their own homes or at the Bradford Hospice,” she said.
