SIX emergency vehicles were called to a house fire in Saltaire in the early hours of this morning.
Fire crews rescued one man from the bedroom of a home in Melbourne Street at around 5am.
The man was checked over by paramedics but did not need hospital treatment.
Burnt cooking is thought to have sparked the alert, which saw fire crews from Shipley, Bingley and Idle called to the scene, along with an ambulance, a rapid response medical vehicle and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service's hazardous area response team.
Firefighters said smoke detectors had been fitted and were working, but had not woken the occupier.
