FOUR generations of one family will take part in a sponsored walk to help start Christian Aid Week.
The Joneses – Ken, 92, the Reverend Keith, 65, Alex, 37, and six-year-old Ezra – will join walkers from local churches for a stroll around Roberts Park in Saltaire.
The sponsored event, open to people of all ages, is on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Those taking part will lap the park as many times as they can to raise money for Christian Aid support for families in Bangladesh who have lost their homes to flooding.
The Rev Keith Jones, a Christian Aid organiser, said: “The people of Shipley and Saltaire are very generous and open-hearted and always support Christian Aid Week.”
After the stroll there will be music in the bandstand from singer-songwriter John Froud. Christian Aid Week runs from May 15 to 21.
